Wifey recently made some fries out of butternut squash.

With some olive oil, salt, and pepper, the sliced butternut squash was put into the oven. Wifey mentioned that the final product was a bit on the soggy side, but that didn’t matter at all as the butternut squash fries were delicious.
The toddler recently made his first purchase practically all by himself. We went to one of the nearby malls. While wifey visited a particular store, the toddler and I walked around the mall. The toddler eventually spotted a Disney store. He checked out a lot of the merchandise, but there were a couple that stood out. He grabbed them, and I agreed that we should get them. We walked up to the register, and the clerk asked the toddler if he wanted to hold the bag, to which the toddler responsed, “Yes.” I had the toddler pay the clerk for the toys, and then the clerk placed the two toys into the toddler’s bag. We then walked over to where wifey was to show her the purchases.

We had taken a stroller with us, but the toddler did not need it at all. I’m thinking that the stroller days might be over, if not now then very, very soon.
The toddler has assisted in purchasing items before (always in a shopping cart or stroller), but this was the first time that he walked into a store, selected items, and took them to the register. Seeing him in action was very cool. We’ll see if I always feel this way about his wanting to buy things.
Always Grateful,
~Hubby (aka Daddy)

Good looking butternut squash slices! I never thought of turning them into fries! I’ll have to give it a try since I’m a huge fan of sweet potato fries.
