The next Beerwalk is soon upon us and will take place on Sat., Feb. 9, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. It is also an official event for SF Beer Week 2013.

It was a year ago that the first Beerwalk took place in San Jose’s Japantown. With subsequent Beerwalks taking place every three months or so, the most recent ones took place in Campbell in August and Willow Glen in November. And so it is that after one full year, Beerwalk returns to the Japantown neighborhood.

Attendees will taste mostly California beers while checking out local stores and restaurants that they might have never set foot in otherwise.

This time around, Beerwalk founders Charlie Mann and Jordan Trigg – both of Jack’s Bar & Lounge – have added a cool twist: The first 100 people to check in at registration, which starts at 12 p.m, will score the opportunity to tour the nearby Gordon Biersch brewery and bottling facility.

Local South Bay brewing companies pouring at the Beerwalk include Hermitage, Campbell, Strike, and Gordon Biersch.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $30 at Jack’s Bar & Lounge or online at www.thebeerwalk.com. In the case the event does not sell out, tickets can be purchased day of for $38. A ticket includes beer samples, a custom glass, and a passport. Proceeds benefit the Japantown Business Association.

For more information, visit the Beerwalk website or like their Facebook page. Oftentimes, the beers being poured will be announced via Twitter.
