Steins Beer Garden & Restaurant Celebrates Pork of July 2013

Steins Beer Garden & Restaurant in downtown Mountain View is celebrating this year’s Independence Day with a “Pork of July” special.

Starting July 1 through the Fourth of July weekend, executive chef Colby M. Reade and his team will serve a 3-course menu ($35) with Pork Belly Potato Salad appetizer, a choice of Pork Stravaganza Sandwich (three layers including the Breakfast for Dinner and the BLT) or Pork Gumbo with braised spiced pork belly, and Bacon Berry Shortcake with black pepper bacon for dessert.

Here is the full menu. Guests can also order the dishes a la carte.

Pork Belly Potato Salad – $10

– smoked garlic, herb sausage, grilled country white bread, whole grain mustard, and pickles

Pork Stravaganza (three-layer) Sandwich (2.5 lbs.) – $22

– BFDBLT (Breakfast for Dinner with all the BLT fixins’), house made chorizo patty, pimento cheese, fried breaded pork cutlet, smoked chili aioli, pickled cabbage, and grilled red onion

Pork Gumbo – $22

– smoked country ham confit, house made andouille sausage, braised spiced pork belly, dirty rice cake, gumbo au jus, and crispy fried okra

Bacon Berry Shortcake – $10

– bacon infused biscuit, black pepper bacon dusted strawberries, sweet cream, and strawberry sauce

In addition to their stellar beer lineup and other specialty drinks, Steins will be introducing their Smoked Tomato and Candied Bacon Bloody Mary – 22 ounces of house made mary mix, pickled vegetable garden garnish, candied bacon swizzle stick, with a garlic salt rim (available on the weekends).

The best way to RSVP is to call Steins at (650) 963-9568. Steins typically takes reservations for parties of 10 or more; however, they will be taking reservations on 4th of July. Guests are also encouraged to walk-in.
