Had a great time as always. We were struck by the growth of the downtown Sunnyvale area, as it’s been some time since we last visited. We’ll definitely be back on a more regular basis.

The next Beerwalk is already scheduled to take place – also for the first time – in downtown San Jose. It’s set for Thursday, March 26 at 6pm, and early birds can purchase tickets as usual on The Beerwalk website.

Can’t wait for it.

Cheers! Prost! Gunbae!

About Sake Walk in Japantown, San Jose

Tucked minutes away from Downtown San Jose sits the historical Japantown business district. Explore the unique boutique shops, art studios and great restaurants within the community, all while sipping on sake and enjoying the social enthusiasm of shopkeepers and fellow sake walkers!

The Sake Walk was created beyond the idea of sampling sake, but rather to provide an outlet for the local community to come together to explore the neighborhoods and small businesses that help keep the Bay Area great.

Beerwalk Presents Inaugural Ciderwalk in Santana Row

Ciderwalk First Ever

The team behind the Beerwalk series – including co-founders Jordan Trigg and Charlie Mann – are excited to present the first-ever Ciderwalk, taking place Wednesday, August 31 from 6pm to 9pm in Santana Row.

Ciderwalk will have the look and feel of a Beerwalk event. You’ll be able to stroll a local neighborhood – the Santana Row community in this case – and visit a variety of shops and restaurants while enjoying refreshing ciders – in lieu of beers – with other attendees.

Jordan recently shared with me how Ciderwalk came about:

“Since the start of Beerwalks – going on 5 years – we have always had 1 to 3 cider companies included in every walk. With the success of the Beerwalks, we are now receiving an overwhelmingly increasing amount of breweries requesting to participate, to the point we are turning away great breweries since every walk can only feature 20 to 25.

“In order to make more room for breweries we decided to no longer include cider companies in Beerwalks and instead create a walk dedicated solely to cider. Plus, we’re continuing to see the growing popularity of ciders. Thus, the Ciderwalk was born.”

Participating cider companies and tasting locations were recently announced.

Cider Companies

  • 101 Cider House
  • Angry Orchard
  • Brothers Cider
  • Golden State Cider
  • Half Pint Ciders
  • Magners Cider
  • Rabbit’s Foot Meadery
  • Redwood Coast Cider
  • Surf City Cider
  • Schilling Cider
  • South City Cider
  • Stella Cidre (cider)
  • Strongbow Cider
  • Troy Cider
  • Wildcide Hard Cider
  • Woodchuck Cider
  • Wyder’s Cider

Tasting Locations

  • Bellarmine Barber Shop
  • BoConcept San Jose
  • Consuelo Mexican Bistro
  • Diesel Santana Row
  • El Jardin Tequila Bar

  • Marine Layer
  • Oakley O Store
  • Orvis San Jose
  • Rosie McCann’s Irish Pub & Restaurant
  • Splendid at Santana Row

Tickets are available at the Ciderwalk Evenbrite page and include a cider tasting at each location, a custom glass and a passport.

There’ll be a limited number of tickets available at the event for $38. Proceeds help benefit the Bay Brewers Guild.

About the inaugural Ciderwalk, Jordan adds, “We have received a great response from the beer and cider community and are on pace to sell out the event. If the event goes as planned, we hope to have a couple Ciderwalks in 2017!”

Santana Row Beerwalk Tickets Still Available, Plus $5 Off Discount Code on Remaining 2016 Beerwalk Events

Santana Row Beerwalk 2016

Beerwalk founders Jordan Trigg and Charlie Mann continue their winning combination with The Beerwalk – the series of community events that spotlight South Bay neighborhoods (so far: San Jose’s Japantown, Downtown Campbell, Downtown Willow Glen, Downtown Campbell and Santana Row), small shops and businesses, good causes and, of course, tasty beer. I also appreciate how they take care to include as many local breweries as possible at their events.

And when the weather forecast for an upcoming Beerwalk calls for a picture perfect afternoon or evening, then a Beerwalk is sure to sell out in advance, leaving some folks disappointed when they’re unable to purchase tickets when showing up on the day of the event.

So if you’re interested in the upcoming Beerwalk in Santana Row on Wednesday, July 27, then I strongly recommend that you consider purchasing tickets sooner than later at www.thebeerwalk.com.

Last year’s Santana Row Beerwalk sold out. And a quick South Bay weather check shows ideal conditions for the coming week, not to mention that the upcoming Beerwalk is taking place in the middle of Silicon Valley Beer Week, which will likely add to the popularity.

Memorial Day Weekend: Take $5 Off All Remaining 2016 Beerwalks

The Beerwalk 2016 5 Dollars Off

The first Bay Area Beerwalk took place in early 2012 in San Jose’s Japantown, which I was fortunate to have been able to attend. Since that inaugural Beerwalk, The Beerwalk series – the brainchild of local gents Charlie Mann and Jordan Trigg – has continued to grow in popularity while maintaining the focus on local South Bay communities and businesses, and local breweries.

The most recent Beerwalk took place earlier this month in downtown Campbell and was a sold-out event, which meant there was a number of disappointed folks who hoped to purchase tickets on the day of the event. There were simply too many who had already purchased tickets in advance.

If you plan to attend one of the remaining Beerwalks this year, you can take $5 off tickets during this Memorial Day Weekend with the promotional code “memorial.” Here’s the remaining 2016 Beerwalk calendar:

  • Wed., July 27, 6pm-9pm: The Beerwalk at Santana Row
  • Wed., Aug. 31, 6pm-9m: Ciderwalk at Santana Row (Inaugural Ciderwalk Event)
  • Thurs., Sep. 15, 6pm-9pm: Sake Walk at San Jose’s Japantown (Inaugural Sake Walk Event)
  • Sat., Oct. 29, 2pm-6pm: The Beerwalk in Willow Glen (Halloween Edition)
  • Sat., Dec. 10, 2pm-6pm: The Beerwalk in San Jose’s Japantown (Christmas Edition)

Of special note is the launch of The Beerwalk series’ first ever Ciderwalk and Sake Walk events, as well as The Beerwalk’s Christmas edition in Japantown.

For more details and to purchase tickets (remember the promotional code “memorial”), visit www.thebeerwalk.com.
