Bacon and Beer Classic Returns to Municipal Stadium in San Jose
The Bacon and Beer Classic is returning for the second time this year to San Jose’s Municipal Stadium (588 East Alma Ave.) on Sat., Nov. 14. This fall edition is a follow-up to the Bacon and Beer Classic held earlier in March, a successful event that drew sold-out crowds.
“We saw an incredible turnout at Municipal Stadium this past March,” says Kate Levenstien, founder of Cannonball Productions and the Bacon and Beer Classic. “We are excited to feature even more San Jose restaurants and breweries this time around. You can’t go wrong with delicious bacon dishes, craft beers, and an awesome ballpark!”
The 20 or so local participating restaurants include Firehouse No. 1 Gastropub, Las Cazuelas, Habana Cuba, Psycho Donuts, Stanley’s Sports Bar, 7 Stars Bar & Grill, East Coast Alice and more. The 40 breweries and cider companies include, among others, Strike Brewing Company, Gordon Biersch, Wildcide Hard Cider, Golden State Brewery, San Francisco Mead Company, Speakeasy Ales & Lagers, Half Moon Bay Brewing Company and Mavericks Brewing. In addition, the festival will feature a photo booth, branding station, bungee run, giant jenga, bacon eating contest, and more. For the first time ever, guests will also enjoy full access to the field.
A panel of judges will be on hand to award winners in select categories. The restaurant awarded the Best Overall Bacon Dish will go on to be a contender in the 2016 World Food Championships in Kissimmee, Florida.
The Bacon and Beer Classic has two separate sessions – the Brunch session from 1pm-4pm and the Evening session from 7pm-10pm. VIP tickets allow for one-hour early admission, 12pm and 6pm, respectively. General Admission tickets are $59 and VIP tickets are $79. All tickets include a souvenir Bacon and Beer Classic branded glass to take home.
