Scenes from 2011 Meet the Brewers: Food Truck the Brewers Edition Part 2 of 2 – The Food
The previous post, Beerfest Part 1, was about beer. This post is about food trucks, and most are based in the South Bay.
First up, it’s the BBQ Kalbi food truck.
A close up of their social media banner on their truck.
A look at their menu.
Next up: It’s The Louisiana Territory.
Their menu.
Their specials of the day.
Here’s MoBowl.
Their menu.
More of their menu.
And last but not least, Southern Sandwich of SF.
The side view.

“Well behaved children” were welcome to this event. Fighting off a bit of a cold, our toddler was simply amazing as wifey and I took pictures and ordered food. We were near a heat lamp that provided the perfect level of warmth.
From the BBQ Kalbi food truck, we ordered the beef and spicy pork tacos to get started.
Wifey enjoying the spicy pork taco. The toddler eating most of the beef from the beef taco.
I went back to the BBQ Kalbi truck to order some more food, taking the toddler with me. While asking for a beef burrito and another spicy pork taco, a cool thing happened. The toddler started busting out some Korean, like “hi” and “thank you.” He likely did this as I told him that this was a Korean food truck. The gentleman taking our order must have been impressed because he asked if the toddler wanted nachos, to which the toddler answered, “Yeah!”
And here are the toddler’s courtesy nachos.
The toddler couldn’t wait to dive in.
And I couldn’t wait to dive in to the beef burrito.
I got some sides of kimchi and sliced cucumbers.
But that tiny bowl of kimchi was simply no match against wifey. So I went back for more with a larger plate.
Put some kimchi on the spicy pork taco.
Spicy pork taco on one hand. A refreshing, crisp beer in the other. An awesome pairing.
The toddler still munching away on those nachos. Though we didn’t try out any of the other food trucks, we’ll be sure to do so if we ever run across them again.
I took a moment to appreciate this beer. And to think other thoughts.
In addition to this great event in general and the great beer in my hand in particular, there were two additional reasons why life was so good right then and there.
Reason #1.
Reason #2.
We all left with smiles.
Always Grateful,
~Andy
Actually, the toddler had 99% of the beef in the beef taco! :) Really loved that kimchi! :)
Oh, that’s right. I’ll correct the post now.
