Scenes from Recent South Bay Oktoberfest Celebrations
Plenty of Oktoberfest celebrations took place in the South Bay last month, including events at Liquid Bread Gastropub, Harry’s Hofbrau, and Steak Out.
Liquid Bread Gastropub
Liquid Bread Gastropub temporarily opened its doors to offer a sneak peek inside during the Oct. 13-14 weekend, coinciding with the Downtown Campbell Oktoberfest weekend celebration.
It was the public’s first chance to check out the Liquid Bread space since the SJ Beerwalk in downtown Campbell this past Aug. 11, when the owner had received the keys just the day before.
The Liquid Bread team was on hand to greet customers, pour draft German beer, and talk about their much anticipated gastropub. The most popular questions that weekend for them was, naturally, “When will you open?”
Liquid Bread Gastropub officially opened on Oct. 23 and is on the fast track to becoming a South Bay hot spot for quality food and beer in a down-to-earth setting.
Harry’s Hofbrau
There was a special Thursday Pint Night on Oct. 25 at Harry’s Hofbrau in San Jose as they hosted their annual Schneider Weisse event. In addition to German beer, tall ceramic beer mugs and Bavarian-style pretzels were also offered and proved to be very popular. Of course, there was a compelling draft beer lineup as usual.
Harry’s continues its South Bay role as a major craft beer establishment.
Steak Out
In downtown Mountain View, Steak Out hosted an Oktoberfest event that had customers arriving in droves to enjoy a special Oktoberfest food and beer menu.
Indoor and outdoor tables were filled throughout the day and evening, including the long tables set up in the parking lot. Of note were the positive comments about the solid craft beer offerings on tap at Steak Out.
Interestingly, according to staff, this Oktoberfest event was “the busiest by far” that Steak Out has ever been.
