O’Flaherty’s Irish Pub Celebrates Vast Beer Offerings, Hosts Tap Launch Party
Taps have been recently added to O’Flaherty’s Irish Pub in downtown San Jose’s San Pedro Square. There are now 54 taps, with 53 different draft beers – two taps are for Guinness naturally. And according to general manager David Mulvehill, about 40 of the 54 are currently devoted to craft beers.
“Everyone is a beer drinker,” he says, and in keeping with the integrity of an Irish bar, Mulvehill, who hails from County Offaly, Ireland, wants everyone to feel welcome at O’Flaherty’s. “You’re a stranger here but once” is O’Flaherty’s motto, be it a new guest enjoying a shot, a commercial brew, or craft.
Over the past year, Mulvehill has certainly seen many folks convert to craft beer. For instance, he shares that many members of O’Flaherty’s beer club, which now totals 60, are long-time patrons who have made that conversion. Regarding the beer club, for $25 a month, club members get four beers of their choice, various special deals, and free monthly beer tastings where attendees can learn all about beer – the ingredients, what gives beer its flavor, its tastes, how it pairs with food, and so on.
54 Tap Launch Party
