Scott’s Seafood to Host Firestone Walker Brewmaster’s Dinner

As beer-and-food pairing events continue to grow in popularity, more people are discovering the versatility of beer thanks to its variety of styles. Plus, beer’s carbonation acts as a palette cleanser, enabling clearer flavor profiles to shine through after every bite and sip.

A special rooftop patio dinner is scheduled for June 26 at Scott’s Seafood in downtown San Jose with a brewmaster dinner featuring Firestone Walker Brewing Company.

Chef Alfonso Tamayo has created a special menu for the four-course dinner to complement Firestone Walker’s most popular, award-winning beers.

  • First Course: Nuts and berries cheese plate paired with Pivo Hoppy Pils.
  • Second Course: Butter leaf lettuce, spicy pecans, and goat cheese, with raspberry vinaigrette paired with Double Barrel Ale.
  • Third Course: Seared ahi tuna with ponzu sauce, sticky rice, and bok choy paired with Union Jack IPA.
  • Fourth Course: Bread pudding with whipped cream and caramel sauce paired with Stickee Monkee Central Coast Quad.

A light reception precedes the first course with bacon-wrapped prawns and shrimp ceviche paired with Pale 31.

There will be a brewer in attendance to introduce the pairings and guests will have the chance to meet original brewmaster Jeffers Richardson, who recently returned to Firestone Walker to direct the Barrelworks facility in Buellton, Calif., home to the brewery’s well-regarded barrel-aged wild beers and strong ales.

The cost of the dinner is $40. Space is limited, and tickets are available online.
