The third annual Pints for Pups fundraiser – presented by the Southbay Beer Hounds and Clay Planet – is set for Saturday, May 13 from 1pm-8pm at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds (344 Tully Rd., San Jose).
Part of the proceeds from all drink, food and art sales will benefit the non-profits Silicon Valley Pet Project and the Thulani Program.
Participating breweries, wineries and distillery include:
- Strike Brewing
- Hermitage
- Golden State
- Santa Clara Valley Brewing
- Taplands
- Freewheel
- Benoit Casper
- Firestone Walker
- Oskar Blues
- Sarah’s Vineyard
- Satori Cellars
- Venus Spirits
Drinks are $5 each, good for a pint of beer, 7 oz. of wine or 1 cocktail. Food options include Waffles Amore, Sugar Tree and the usual goodies from the Fairgrounds.
There’ll be one-of-a-kind ceramic art for sale from 40 local artists along with a raffle and live entertainment from Bug Horn Rex and Sound Decisions.
Entry tickets are $10 – which include parking directly on the Fairgrounds – and available for purchase at the Pints for Pups Eventbrite page. Note that all proceeds from any donations made when purchasing tickets go to the two organizations.
I’ve previously posted pics from last year’s 2016 Pints for Pups event, as well as written about the origins of the Southbay Beer Hounds and Pints for Pups.
About the Beneficiaries
Silicon Valley Pet Project (SVPP) is a nonprofit organization of volunteers committed to saving local at-risk shelter pets through rescue, community involvement, and education. SVPP saves animals from our local municipal shelter, the San Jose Animal Care Center. So every time they pull a dog into their foster program and free up a kennel for another dog, they are actually saving 2 lives! svpetproject.org
The Thulani Program rescues abandoned and terminally ill or very old German Shepherd dogs from California and Nevada, finds permanent homes for them, and provides funds to help with their care for the rest of their lives. These are dogs that have virtually no chance of being adopted from shelters, and through Thulani they have an opportunity to spend the rest of their lives as treasured companions. thulanidogs.org
