Santa Clara Valley Brewing Wins Silver Medal at 2018 GABF for Alviso Mills Hefeweizen

Congrats to San Jose’s Santa Clara Valley Brewing for winning silver at this year’s Great American Beer Festival held over the weekend in Denver, Colorado.

Santa Clara Valley Brewing won silver in the ‘German-Style Wheat Ale’ category for its Alviso Mills Bavarian-Style Hefeweizen.

Santa Clara Valley Brewing’s Brian Moore and Steve Donohue join Charlie Papazian on the awards stage.

The award marks Santa Clara Valley Brewing brewmaster Steve Donohue‘s fifth GABF medal, having won his earlier four medals in consecutive years from 2008 to 2011.

The GABF award-winning beer was tasting mighty fine during a recent sampling when I helped with the packaging of its latest batch.

The beer also paired very well with Bavarian food during a recent lunch at home.

Alviso Mills Hefeweizen is currently on tap at Santa Clara Valley Brewing and available in cans as well.
