Beer Events at Wine Affairs in San Jose during SF Beer Week 2013
San Jose’s Wine Affairs recently made available their events for the upcoming SF Beer Week 2013 celebration. Combined with a schedule recently posted on the SF Beer Week website, the following is a round up of their events:
Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.: Blind IPA Tasting
The ultimate Showdown. Taste 8 delicious West Coast style IPAs blind. Some that you know and love, others that will surprise you. Put your palate to the test!
Qualifying Factors:
– West Coast Style IPA
– Single, Double, or Imperial
– No Rye or Wheat IPAs
– Arranged (roughly) by IBU
Results will be announced and taps revealed at 8:30PM.
Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.: Dogfish Head: Fresh hops and fresh beats

Presented by Fat Headphones & On The Corner Records. Come dig for records – everything from Funk, Soul, Jazz, Rock, Hip-Hop, Latin, and Afro-Funk!
Featuring Dogfish Head musically inspired brews! Tapping kegs of Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew Imperial Stout and Robert Johnson’s Hellhound On My Ale IPA. Plus a sampling of Dogfish Head’s Ancient Ales series.
DJ Jeff Jagged and DJ Fat Headphones will be spinning worldwide rare grooves and all that is strange, funky, and soulful.
Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, 4:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.: Lagunitas Craft Beerds Night!
Two things that go well together: beer and facial hair. It’s true! And there’s a book to prove it! Join us as we welcome the author of the Craft Beerds book and, one of the biggest proponents of “Beerds,” Lagunitas for a night not easily forgotten. Sideburns, moustaches, and beards encouraged (real or fake!).

What’s more American than grilled cheese, apple pie, and a good ol’ fashioned presidential debate?! In honor of President Washington born 2/22/1732 and President Lincoln born 2/12/1809, we are featuring 21st Amendment’s Sneak Attack Saison and Brew Free or Die! IPA. Come vote for your fave prez by drinking beer!
Plus the Grilled Cheese Bandits food truck will be parked outside from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. and our kitchen will be serving up apple pie. Yay for America!
Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, 5:30 p.m. – 11 p.m.: Valentine’s Allagash Pairing
Love is in the air! Treat that special someone or stir up a new romance. Featuring a four course prix fixe menu and specialty Allagash pairing.
