Scenes from Golden State Brew & Grill in Downtown Gilroy, Feb. 2018
We had the pleasure of visiting Golden State Brew & Grill last week, located in the heart of downtown Gilroy at 7560 Monterey Rd., Ste. 100.
Golden State Brew & Grill is the latest project for Golden State Brewery, and its opening – which occurred Jan. 18 – follows their Santa Clara flagship location and their more recent San Diego outpost.
Golden State Brew & Grill showcases a bright, charming and inviting taproom with 24 taps – 16 of Golden State Brewery’s own offerings as well as 8 guest taps – along with a tidy menu of tasty bites, including a variety of tasty paninis. There are also ciders and wine as well as a great outdoor seating area.
We ordered a flight of six Golden State Brewing beers:
- Heritage Honey Ale
- ‘It’s Peanut Butter Jelly Time!’ Stout (Nitro)
- Cold Brew Coffee Stout
- Banana Brown Sugar Brown Ale
- Chocolate Rain Porter
- Wham, Bam, Dank You Ma’am! Triple IPA
They were all delicious.
Kyle and Moselle provided excellent, friendly service.
Foodwise, we ordered…
the ‘Charcuterie Plate’…
‘Pita Points’…
and the ‘Cubano’ and ‘Caprese’ paninis.
Very tasty eats. Cheers, Jacob!

According to Stephanie, what you currently see at Golden State Brewery & Grill represents only the first phase.
Most of the walls are temporary and hide the expansive side and back areas where busy folks are hard at work completing the second phase – the construction of a brewery and kitchen with restaurant seating to fully round out the 10,000 square foot space.
It’s the hope, Stephanie shares, that the second phase will be finished later this summer in August.
I have no doubt that the wait will be worth it, especially since visiting even now is already more than worthwhile.
Cheers! Prost! Gunbae!
