SF Beer Week 2019 Returns for 11th Year, Opening Gala Tickets on Sale

San Francisco Beer Week takes place in early February every year.

This means that the upcoming 11th annual San Francisco Beer Week – presented by the newly expanded Bay Area Brewers Guild – is a little over a month away.

And now that the SF Beer Week website has gone live with the first wave of events, it’s time for many of us to start planning our beer week schedule.

I know I’ll be checking the site often to keep better track of all the official events that will continue to be added right up to the start of beer week.

SF Beer Week Opening Gala

First things first…

Kicking off beer week is the SF Beer Week Opening Gala, which is set for the evening of Friday, Feb. 1 at Pier 35 on San Francisco’s waterfont (1454 The Embarcadero).

Tickets to this highly regarded beer festival – including the early bird VIP option – recently went on sale and are available for purchase at the sfbeerweek.org site or the direct Eventbrite ticket link.

Approximately 120 breweries from throughout Northern California will be pouring their best offerings at the Opening Gala, including newest releases, rare beers, one-off experiments and old favorites.

This year, five original beers will be designed and brewed in collaboration by the five chapters of the Bay Area Brewers Guild, representing San Francisco, South Bay (and the Peninsula), Monterey coastal region, East Bay and North Bay.

Gala attendees will have a chance to taste these five unique beers at the Opening Gala and choose their favorite.

Following the Opening Gala, SF Beer Week events spread out into the Bay Area through Sunday, Feb. 10.

And as in years past, look for more South Bay-oriented posts regarding SF Beer Week in the coming weeks.

About Bay Area Brewers Guild

The Bay Area Brewers Guild, formed in 2004 as the San Francisco Brewers Guild, is a non-profit trade association representing the region’s independent craft breweries. Its mission is to preserve the Greater Bay Area’s brewing heritage; advocate on behalf of members; partner with artisan producers in the food, beverage, hospitality and agricultural industries; educate the greater public; and unite those who make local beer with those who love it.
