Winners List from Santa Clara Bacon and Beer Classic 2018
Passing along the list of winning dishes and beers – 9 categories in all – from this year’s Bacon and Beer Classic held last weekend at Levi’s Stadium:
- Best Sweet Dish – Spicy Bacon Caramel – Kindred Cooks
- Best Savory Dish – Braised Pork Belly Sliders – Mayfield Bakery & Cafe
- Best Overall Dish – Braised Bacon Tacos – Nom Burger
- Best Cider & Fruit Beer – Grapefruit Blood Orange Radler – TW Pitchers’ Brewing Co.
- Best IPA – Maui Waui – Altamont Beer Works
- Best Pale Ale & Lager – Das Brew
- Best Dark Beer – Macadamia Nut Porter – Six Rivers Brewery
- Best Amber & Reds – Boont Amber – Anderson Valley Brewing
- Best Belgium & Wheat – Dunkelweizen (Dark Bavarian Wheat Ale) – Faultline Brewing Co.
We were unable to attend this year due to a mini-vacation planned over a year in advance, but I heard plenty of great things as usual about this popular event.
Though the exact date is not yet set, I’ve received word from event organizers that the Bacon and Beer Classic will be returning to our area next year for sure. Can’t wait for it!
