Celebrating a Special Occasion at Il Fornaio Palo Alto

Our older ‘kid’ got married earlier last month.

Their union was followed by a wonderful dinner later in the day at Il Fornaio in Palo Alto.

Beers from the tap included Fort Point Beer Company KSA Kölsch and Firestone Walker Brewing Company Union Jack IPA.

Both beers paired great with the Calamaretti Fritti – Baby squid, lightly floured & deep fried, served with spicy marinara.

From the special Veneto region menu, I ordered the Lasagna al Radicchio – Housemade lasagna with radicchio, porcini, sausage & Grana Padano.

Oh. My. Goodness. Delicious!

Our younger kid ordered the Margherita Pizza – Mozzarella, tomato sauce, oregano & fresh basil.

Also from the Veneto menu, Andrea ordered the Risotto Sant’Erasmo – Carnaroli rice with shrimp, crab & baby artichoke.

Our meal came to a sweet ending with excellent desserts.

Dolce Trio – Dessert sampler of Tiramisù, Cannoli Siciliani, Zabaione alla Gritti & a scoop of Bellini Sorbet.

Food, service, ambience – all impeccable as usual. What a way to commemorate the special occasion!
